A successful life is available to each of us if we incorporate a handful of simple steps that guide our approach.

What are the secrets of success? They really aren't secrets at all, the secrets of success are well known, well documented, and available to all of us. We can easily see these success components by examining April 12th's article Success by Real People; an interview with Joel Conrad. Joel's direct comments are in bold. Let's examine them for the secrets they reveal.

Joel: (I would ask a young person) Are you committed?

Joel: I had high self esteem that...I'd succeed. Yes (I was fulfilling my purpose). I had blind faith, believed in myself. When called for an audition, I knew I would succeed.

Joel:I am resilient...bounce off of disappointment.

Joel: It started reaching me that there were other ways of living my life. (I'm) a work in progress, constantly evolving...still growing.

There they are, the secrets of success available to each of us: Committment, Self Confidence, Purpose, Resilience, Reflection, and Continuous Growth.

We all talk about success, but what is it? Money? Fame? Power? Is Donald Trump successful? How about Bill Gates? Oprah?

Craig Bennett :
I think success is a married man having a wife who adores him, a father whose kids respect, obey and look up to him, wanting to emulate him. A employer whose employees want to work with him helping him through tough times, a employee whose employer respects them and truly values them as a person as well as an employee.

I think success is when one has good friends whom they can depend on in good times as well as bad, and in turn they to are dependable in those times to others.

Sucess is knowing that you are loved, cared for and wanted by others, not because of what you have or own, but because of who you are as a person.

Success is when a father teaches his children to adore their mother through his actions.

Yeah, those other examples you gave about money, fame, power, Trump, Gates, etc have nothing on real success.

These are all great measures of success, though we must realize that success is a very personal thing. You sure hit it on the head when you say, "Sucess is knowing that you are loved, cared for and wanted by others, not because of what you have or own, but because of who you are as a person." Knowing who you are and what you want in life, and then being true to who you are is a sure-fire path to success for anyone. For some it will be money and power, and we must honor those choices as true success for those people. But not for me.
