Aside from managing time, here are tips that can reduce stress in life, whether it's about family, relationship, money, relocation or career.

When you get tense about something that happens in your life, you experience stress. It can be a job change, a loved one taken ill, broken marriage, problem children, and so on. Stress can also be a response to certain things, or unrealized dreams.

Not all stresses are bad, others can be a blessing in disguise and provide motivation leading to better things. But too much stress, one that can cause migraines, insomnia, anger, depression and other related symptoms, is something else you need to seriously look into.

How can you pressure be controlled when it overwhelms? Not all situations can be controlled, but there are simple ways or tips that can be used to deal with stress. And remember, that at times, pressures are also self-applied without being aware of it.

Tips to Minimize and Deal with Stresses

  • Be Gentle with Yourself

There are times when you are not fair to yourself. If you think you judge others, the same can be applied to yourself.

Often you are harsher on yourself than you are of other people, including people you love and close friends. You have the tendency to measure yourself constantly with others, for example, how good you are at work, your status in your community, as a parent, as mother, a brother or sister. The list continues.

If you can learn to accept yourself just the way you are, especially unconditionally, this would reduce the pressure you apply to yourself.

  • Exercise

Go for a brisk walk. Go to the shops. You can join a local walk, swim or jog team. If you are exhausted working from home and haven't left your workstation, have a stretch. Change your environment for an hour or so.

  • Stop Comparing Yourself to Others

'If only I have as much money as …,' 'If only I'm an only child,' 'If only I look as beautiful as …' Often you don't realize that a great deal of unhappiness is caused by these constant comparisons you make. You say, "if only I have a big house like she has…", "if only my husband is as rich as hers…" The comparison is endless.

The only comparison that counts is the comparison between where you were and where you are now. By all means, admire others, congratulate them and be proud of their achievements, but remind yourself that only you can decide the standard you want to set for yourself.

  • Talk the Stress Out

Sometimes it helps to share or talk about your stress to close friends or family members. The other person's active listening can help.

  • Watch Out What You Eat.

Sometimes when stressed, you compensate by eating chocolates or junk food. You drink a lot of coffee for a temporary feel good remedy. Occasionally, it's okay to treat yourself with something you love to eat, but it has to be done in moderation. Go for food that give real energy such as fresh fruit.

There you have it, tips to exercise better control over the pressures in life.
