Humans are born with a clean slate of mind having set of talents which remain hidden. One can gradually nurture these talents to reach full potential for empowered mind.

The mind is one of the most complex, unique, and mysterious creations on this planet. It is a storehouse of knowledge, energy, and power. Unfortunately, many do not use their mind. Instead, the mind uses them. Instead of using the mind for self-empowering, people use it for their selfish, negative, and destructive purposes.

Mind Empowerment

Empowerment is a social process by which people become aware of their rights, role, and responsibility. It encourages people participation to increase their spiritual, political, social or economic strength.

Concentration, passion, visualization, and beliefs are the tools used to empower the mind. The human mind possesses latent magnetic power which usually remains untapped. Some believe that those who do tap the mind's power will create a positive aura and attract positive circumstances and opportunities into their lives. Have passion for learning and disseminating knowledge. The energies of an empowered mind are focused on self-development. This is a basis for achieving larger objectives in life.

Visualization Leads to Empowerment

An open and flexible mind energizes and prepares one for change. Some believe that visualization helps in the transformation of thoughts to a new life of hope and success. By visualizing mental pictures of success, one can take measures toward converting dreams into reality.

Some believe the best time for visualization is in the morning. Closing the eyes and for 5-10 minutes provides an opportunity to find inspiration and self-motivation as one imagines how to go about changing life.

Creative Use of Mind

Most people do not put efforts into thinking and life tends to run on its own inertia. American psychologist William James once said, “Compared to what we should be, we are only half alive. We are making use of only a small part of our mind power. Deep down inside us are vast powers we know nothing of and never use.” One can use this statement as a motivation to empower mind.

Nature has blessed the human mind with unlimited potential and power, a base for creative visualization. Unfortunately, many human minds are caught between two worlds — the inner world and the outer world. The outer world is an outcome of negative mindsets like hatred, jealousy, violence and lust. The sanctity of the inner world is slowly wanes away as its guided by the outer world – excess desires, aspirations, and status.

Evaluating Self-Talk

In the human mind, there is a constant dialogue comprising of conscious thoughts and unconscious beliefs and emotions. This dialogue is called self-talk. Positive self-talk helps one to empower the mind. The way life events are interpreted has a huge impact on one's thinking, emotions and behavior.

Empowerment is an outcome of thoughts and beliefs. It is one's choice to recharge or to allow life to remain stagnant. Positive thoughts and ideas energize the mind, leading to empowerment.

Yoga Empowers Mind

Bhagavad-Gita places special emphasis on controlling the vagaries of mind. Chapter 6, text 26 sums up- mind is of unsteady nature and needs to be controlled by withdrawing it and putting under the control of self. Self, in this context, means yogi. For many, yoga as a therapy has been of immense advantage to not only counter stress and depression but empower self.

Claire Coleman shared her experience of a yoga on Times online, saying “My yoga is not just about what I do on my mat, it’s given me skills that I can use every day. If I feel anxious, I know what to do to calm myself down. That’s life-changing, empowering.”

Zen views hold the mind, breath, and body as one entity. By concentrating on breath, one can reprogram the mind away from distractions. Zen emphasizes breathing as a way to empower the mind..
