The Power of DreamingHow to Get the Life You Want By Fulfilling Dreams and Goals
A dream is the foundation for creating the life you wish to live. How well do you dream? Do your dreams come true?
The dictionary defines a dream as a hope, an inspiration, or an aim; to see or imagine in sleep or in a vision; to think or conceive of something in a very remote way. Maybe you have a few definitions of your own, or some that you've heard in your life’s journey – definitions that may have even stolen your dream building abilities. Maybe the odd, "keep dreaming," or "in your dreams," or even "get real." Some people think of dreamers as being detached from real life with their heads in the clouds. In fact dreaming big is one thing successful people have in common. Not only do they dream but also they set a timeline of events or goals, which keep them on track and headed for their dream. These goals are the children of dreams; it's the goals that have the feet and keep one moving forward. When you set a goal for yourself, you are saying, "This is a dream I'm going to make come true." Nine Dream Facts
A dream is the foundation, the cornerstone of achievement, that enables one to create the life they wish to live! Knowing the Difference between a Daydream and a NightmareSome people dream and the lines become blurred. The consequence is dreams become unrealised and largely it is due to the blurred lines between knowing the difference between a daydream and a nightmare. The DaydreamerAs we journey forward in life it is important to look ahead, upon our path. There is little time on the path to look in the rear view mirror, up ahead in the clouds. Dreamers pay attention and remain focused on the goal moving though distractions. Daydreamers don't pay attention, they allow distractions to take them off course, they fail to match action with words and spend their days dreaming, wishing and talking as opposed to moving towards the dream by doing daily. Questions to ask:
The NightmarerNightmarers dream up the worst scenarios, choose the negative over the positive or adopt others' negative input. They are constantly thinking the what ifs, should haves, have to, if I don’t, not good/clever/well enough. Simply put, nightmarers lack control of their thought processes. They will find many excuses for not achieving their goal or talk about what gets in their way. They don't realise that they are in their way! Nightmarers don't see opportunities as something to grasp but as something to be cautious and fearful about - their thoughts are fertile ground of negativity of what could go wrong. Unfortunately this state stunts growth, change and perpetuates their nightmare! Questions to ask:
If you are not living the life you want and your dreams are idle wishes, take the first step towards living the dream now. Determine if you know the difference between a dream, daydream and a nightmare and where you fit in. Moving Ahead and Achieving GoalsNever lose sight of your dream by getting caught up in Daydreaming or Nightmaring. To progress on your path, put your head down and concentrate on the path ahead. Distractions, doubts, and other people’s opinions will come and go as you honour your commitment to your dream and your destination - and you will get to live the life you want - the one you dream about.
